Shayna Heath
Lead Toddler Teacher

Hi! My name is Shayna Heath and I am a lead toddler teacher here at Carlsbad Country Day School. I believe that educating children is the first step to help them be successful in life. I love children and I feel privileged to be a positive influence in their day to day lives. I take great pride in knowing that I help them to grow socially, cognitively, physically and creatively.

I have experience as an intern with the Victim Assistance Unit of the San Diego District Attorney’s Office. In this role I worked directly with abuse victims, some were young children, and I had the opportunity to learn how the legal system functions. In 2009 I completed an internship with the San Pasqual Academy. I worked one on one with students in a classroom atmosphere. In this role I was able to witness the positive impact that the teachers and staff have on the day to day lives of foster care children.

I graduated from California State University, San Marcos with a BA in Human Development in 2010. Since receiving my BA, I have taken child development classes that have qualified me to be a lead teacher in both the preschool and infant and toddler program.
