Lead Three Year Old Teacher

Hi, I am Ms. Bekca, and I am one of the lead three year old teachers here at Carlsbad Country Day School. Before I was fortunate enough to join CCDS, I worked as a Lead Preschool teacher at another Preschool and at Pacific Rim Elementary. Since my start in Early Childhood Education in 2003, I have worked with many different age groups and I love the practice of moving up with the kids year after year.

I have a BA in Psychology, a minor in Anthropology, and I am one course away from my obtaining my Preschool Master Teacher?s License. I am, like all the teachers here at Carlsbad Country Day School, both CPR and First Aide Certified. I have attended multiple workshops and seminars regarding creative teaching topics as well as inclusion training for gifted children and children with special needs. Preschool is a huge part of my life, as I have a three and a half year old who attends CCDS. It is essential to me that my daughter, Riley, is in an environment that would offer her the best care possible. After looking at the other preschools in this area, I knew that I wanted her to be here.

After only a hand full of years teaching, it is still hard for me to describe myself professionally, but here it goes. I am an excited and willing teacher, when I find things I am not good at I learn what I can and practice. I am always up for a challenge! The children in my care are very important to me; each is truly an individual, with their own sets of needs, strengths, and weaknesses.

In my classroom, I set up a typical age appropriate developmental curriculum and tie it into daily routines that assist in challenging each child individually. While your child is developing skills in various areas, I facilitate and provide scaffolding to enhance their learning. Most importantly, your child?s well being and happiness is at the forefront of my teaching. If there is ever something I can do, don?t hesitate to ask. I look forward to many years with your child, watching them grow into excited young learners.
